| Church Life
In a world committed to self-seeking and the thirst for individual rights, it is hard to create a genuine community based on self-sacrifice and mutual commitment; but that is what the church must do. Men and women were not made to live alone but in community with other brothers and sisters. The following resources begin to explore that calling. Spiritual Disciplines Within the Church by Donald Whitney - This book answers questions like: Why should I go to church? Why do I need others? For all those who have thought “I don’t need the church to follow Jesus.” The Peacemaker by Ken Sande - If you are involved in relationships you will be involved in conflict. The Bible has a lot to say about how to handle conflict. This book is an excellent resource to begin understanding the Biblical principles of peacemaking. The Master Plan of Evangelism by Robert Coleman - Grasp the Master’s plan for reproduction that changed the Roman world in 300 years. After reading this book the priority of a life of ministry will be set firmly in your mind. The Master’s Plan for the Church by John MacArthur - A great overview of Biblical attitudes, Biblical goals and Biblical government for Jesus’ new society, the church. The Disciple Making Church by Bill Hull - What would you think of an oil refinery that never produced any oil? What would you think of a church that does not produce any disciples? If the church is to make disciples, then how do we go about doing that? This book gives an answer. Back |
