Bible Study Because of their three goals, the LifeChange Series (NavPress) is an excellent Bible study format. First, the authors seek to give you a good understanding of the book of the Bible being studied. Second, they emphasize application to daily life. Third, they teach you different Bible study skills that are applicable in your future study. The following five are recommended to start.

Matthew - We all should desire to know intimately the life and teachings of the Savior. The gospel of Matthew emphasizes Jesus as King and believers as part of His Kingdom.

Acts - God wrote Acts to record the spread of the kingdom and to give us a record to imitate. The more we are familiar with those first followers of Christ, the more inspired we will be to live out our faith.

Romans - Paul unfolds God’s way to righteousness - how we can be reconciled to God and transformed into the people he means us to be. No other biblical book illumines so many life-changing truths as Romans. Sin, salvation, grace, death, and resurrection are all presented clearly.

Ephesians - This letter gives us priceless truths about our identity in Christ and our special calling in his body, the church. Ephesians is a comprehensive view of the people of God from eternity past to our present living together. It is filled with practical truths for living the Christian life.

James - Following Jesus has concrete implications. The book of James is written to inform us about the practical outworking of our faith. We all need help in thinking through what it means to follow Jesus in our moment by moment. Back
